Now in its 39th year, the festival attracts large numbers of locals and visitors to our beautiful town during one of the most colourful times of year. The festival is set to impress this year with a wide range of great food, wine, arts, comedy and music events suited to people of all ages. This event is run by the community for the community to showcase our local talents as well as the historical and cultural aspects of our town.
Each year people come in droves to take in the stunning scenery and see festival attractions such as the Street Parade, the Buckingham Belles with the Old Red truck and Mullet Man & Mim performing their amazing circus acts.
Many long held festival traditions like the Art Exhibition at the Lakes District Museum, the Parade and Market Day, and the Quiz remain very popular today and each year new events are added to the programme mix to keep it fresh and interesting.
The festival has grown a lot over the past few years and now has over 40 events over 4 days. It still remains very much a community festival with many locals either performing, volunteering or taking part in some way every year.
