About

Now in its 71st year, the Hamilton Agricultural Show is a traditional grassroots show held in the heart of Tasmania, on the first Saturday of March.

Hamilton is a quaint town with lots of personality, situated an hour or so drive north of Hobart through the Derwent Valley.

The Hamilton Agricultural Show is a great mix of traditional show attractions such as Shearing and Wool Handling, Wool, Working Yard Dogs, Camp drafting, Dog High-Jump and Equestrian events, together with some newer elements such as the Miniature Goats, ‘Temptations of the Valley’ – featuring food and drinks from local producers, clay target shooting, along with loads of children’s activities and some great live entertainment.

While the main objective of the show is to promote agriculture in the Central Highlands and Derwent Valley, the Hamilton Show is great fun with a variety of attractions.

Whether you’re a stallholder, competitor or a spectator, it’s an excellent way to start your weekend.

Put it on your calendar – come along and share a day in the country, with family and friends.

Gates open 8am @ Hamilton Recreation Grounds, 5595 Lyell Highway, Hamilton 7140, TASMANIA.
